• Lets Germinate Dahlia Seeds!

With winter a little warmer than usual here in NE Victoria, it’s time to plant some Dahlia seeds into the greenhouse for germinating.

If planting outdoors, you need to wait for the soil to warm up, otherwise you can start them indoors approximately 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. We use heat mats, then as soon as the seeds pop their heads through the soil, it’s off the heatmat and into the greenhouse. Too long on the heatmat risks leggy seedlings and increases the risk of fungal infection and damping off.

Keep watching for regular updates of seedling progression and then the fun of growth and flowering through summer!
