Whilst winter might be the end of our beautiful blooms and most of the veges, as plants prepare to shut down for the season they can display some of the most beautiful, vibrant colours.
This is one of our crepe myrtle trees getting ready to shed the last of it’s leaves before a long winter nap.
We make the most of the dormant winter period to prune many of our fruit trees and other plants, transfer dormant plants into bigger pots as well as replace and top-up soils. This also is the perfect time to monitor root and overall plant health before the spring growing season commences.
Most of the plants we grow are selected to survive our harsh winter frosts, but those that are a little more delicate are tucked away in the greenhouse or protected under frost cloth.
