While we wait for Dahlia planting time, I thought I would give you an update on our lovely rhubarb crowns (see photo) which came via mail order and were planted just over 4 weeks ago.
The pots remain safely tucked away under the patio as there are still many nights of frosts, and in between we have had a LOT of rain so this avoid them getting water logged and risking rot while they are young. Rhubarb is frost tolerant once established so next year will be fine to stay out in it’s permanent place in the garden
Did you know that rhubarb can grow year after year for more than 20 years!
We have had a few warmer weeks than usual for this time of year, so these babies are sprouting much earlier that would usually happen. This shows how happy and healthy the crowns are.
Stay tuned via our Facebook page for updates through spring as these guys take off……rhubarb grows fast!
