What a difference a few weeks and some warm spring weather makes!
While we wait for our Dahlia tubers to start waking up from their winter sleep, these Hyacinth bulbs have given us an early splash of colour to enjoy. There were planted in their portable raised beds back in early May. The warm spring weather has seen them go from tiny sprouts to full blooms within weeks.
Hyacinths add a pretty splash of colour to any garden and are available in a number of different varieties.
They give off a beautiful scent and the pollinators (bees) absolutely love them.
Hyacinths are suitable for pots or gardens beds, best planted en mass for maximum colour effect and so they support each other to avoid falling over or needing to stake.
If correctly stored over winter, bulbs will re-bloom for several years.
